As the American economy continues to struggle under Bidenomics, it’s been nice to see a growing number of companies offer pay raises to compensate for the rising inflation rates. And thanks to yet another recent executive order from Joe Biden, one of those “companies” is the federal government.
According to the late December order “on adjustments of certain rates of pay,” “the rates of basic pay or salaries of the statutory pay systems” will increase by quite a bit for all federal workers beginning with the first pay period of 2024.
It should be noted that Biden’s fiscal 2024 budget proposal from last March included provisions for this.
Per the website Government Executive, this will mean an impressive 4.7 percent basic pay raise across the board for all federal employees. Additionally, the US military will also be receiving a pay raise of 5.2 percent.
However, some federal workers could see a higher raise than others, thanks to an adjustment of locality pay areas by the Biden administration. As Government Executive reported in November, a total of 53 locality pay areas across the country have been adjusted to account for cost of living and inflation rises.
As I said, this is kind of nice to see. I mean, our military definitely needs a pay raise, right? And thanks to Bidenflation, nearly everyone is struggling more so than before.
However, it only continues to point to a failing economy – and one that began with Biden’s Democrats and rule.
If not for Bidenflation or Bidenomics, whatever you want to call it, there wouldn’t be a rise in inflation or cost of living, at least not like we’ve seen over the last few years. And that means these pay raises wouldn’t even be needed if not for Biden.
While it’s nice to see him ‘taking care of his own’ in some respects, it’s just as frustrating knowing that such wouldn’t even be happening if he hadn’t created a failing economy.
It’s also exasperating knowing that despite this pay increase, millions of everyday Americans continue to struggle just to make ends meet, and many more hit the poverty level each day.
According to a recent LendingClub survey, a whopping 61 percent of Americans were living paycheck to paycheck as of September 2023. That includes 78 percent of people who earn under $50,000 and 65 percent of those making between $50,000 and $100,000 a year, per CNBC.
As the survey surmised, it means life is getting harder and harder for even those who have liveable and continuing paychecks. But there are millions who no longer fall into that category, thanks to Biden.
In fact, as even Biden’s Department of Housing and Urban Development has to admit, homelessness has grown by a massive 12 percent since last year. And most of those suddenly finding themselves without a place to live are families with young children, as the Epoch Times reported.
“The sharpest rise in homelessness was among people in families with children – this measure rose by 15.5 percent. Next was homelessness among unaccompanied youths, which increased by 15.3 percent.”
So we now have millions of literal children living on the streets, struggling to find meals – and all because Biden doesn’t know anything about economics.
But hey, it’s not all bad. His government workers just got a pay raise…
By the way, the number of federal employees is only growing. Between December 2022 and August 2023, a whopping 81,000 new government jobs were created. This means that there are nearly 3 million federal workers now – more than a total of 15 states’ entire populations – according to World Population Review.
Oh, and did I mention that a vast majority of federal workers are Democrats?
As the website FedSmith reported back in 2021, political donations from federal workers overwhelmingly go to the Democratic Party or left-leaning candidates. A review of donations in 2020 noted that the Democrats received $27,141,594 from federal workers. Republicans only got $9,026,820. So, 72.63 percent of federal workers are likely to be Democratic, while only 21.15 percent are likely Republicans.
In other words, Biden just gave a significant pay raise to mostly leading members of his political party.
Meanwhile, the rest of us continue to put food on the table and keep a roof over our heads.
