If you haven’t noticed, Country music is following a rather positive trend: taking on the political left and calling out their lies. Similarly, the left has responded with a trend all too familiar: cancellation.
The most recent example of this comes from up-and-coming country singer Tennessee Jet, who was recently literally canceled by a venue for their apparent aversion to one of his songs.
In his new song “2+2,” Jet alludes to all sorts of liberal lies, similar to Oliver Anthony’s “Rich Men North of Richmond.”
One major topic that he addresses is the “childhood mutilation” of transgenderism and “men being allowed to physically dominate women in sports.”
In the song he expressly mentions the evils of such and clearly doesn’t agree with it all.
“If you can’t beat a man, change your gender and your name,
Cheat away a trophy from Riley Gaines.
They’re butcherin’ kids as a remedy,
For feelin’ confused at puberty,
Sellin’ pure evil as sympathy,
And gettin’ rich in the sex change industry.”
And for those words, he says the Mercury Lounge in Tulsa, Oklahoma, has canceled his annual Christmas Show and Toy Drive.

Of course, Jet is choosing to look at this cancellation as a “badge of honor,” claiming that it will do nothing but encourage the young star to “speak the truth in my songs and share my views at a time when so many artists cower to the radical woke.”
To Jet, the idea of allowing ‘gender-affirming care’ surgeries for minors is simply wrong and completely taking advantage of their youth and confusion just to make money. It is the last thing we should be doing.
Of course, that’s not the only problem with our current leadership or the political left Jet has. And the same song admits as much. This is another verse.
“The kids are overdosing on fentanyl,
The door is wide open at the border wall,
DC’s busy sellin’ out us all,
Unless it’s Ukraine, they ain’t takin’ calls.
Politicians whorin’ for the war machine,
Laundering money in the name of peace,
Dressing up Zelenskyy in army green,
Marchin’ us right off into World War 3.
How dare you dare to mention?
How dare you believe your eyes?
How dare you even question?
2 + 2 is 5”
