Artificial intelligence (AI) is supposedly going to change life on Earth as we know it. While we’re not sure about that, AI has definitely been sucking up a lot of oxygen when it comes to news coverage these days. So, you’d think it would be a bigger news story after one of the pioneers of AI—OpenAI CEO Sam Altman—was fired by his board of directors on Friday, it would have been a bigger story. Instead, the media is trying to make it sound as boring and vague as possible. We don’t know which is more disturbing: The fact that Sam Altman has been credibly accused of sexually abusing a 4-year-old or the fact that the media is covering it up.
Altman’s younger sister, Annie Altman, has been alleging on social media for years that Sam Altman started sexually abusing her when she was 4. Sam was 13 when the abuse started. In November of 2021, she alleged that she had “experienced sexual, physical, emotional, verbal, and financial abuse from my biological siblings, mostly Sam Altman and some from Jack Altman.”
The allegations were largely ignored at the time since the tech media was busy lauding Sam Altman as the Second Coming.
In March of this year, Annie tweeted this message to her older brother:
“I’m not four years old with a 13 year old ‘brother’ climbing into my bed non-consensually anymore. (You’re welcome for helping you figure out your sexuality.)”
Sam Altman is openly gay, which is probably one of the reasons why no one wants to touch this story with a ten-foot pole. The catastrophically high rates of child sexual abuse committed by the gay community are one of the third rails in American life these days.
Plus, the media really has gone out of its way to lavish praise on Altman, who is yet another leftwing tech oligarch. A couple of years ago, New York Magazine wrote a glowing piece about him titled, “Sam Altman Is the Oppenheimer of His Age.”
The magazine actually interviewed Annie Altman for the piece, and she explicitly told the reporter that she is now a prostitute because she was sexually abused by her older brother. Here’s what the reporter wrote:
“She felt special and loved when, as a child, Sam read her bedtime stories.”
Uh… that’s not quite an accurate portrayal of what she said. But whatever! The media has a narrative it’s pushing, and it’s that Sam Altman is a very good person. He checks all the right boxes: Liberal, rich, gay, hates Donald Trump, invented some vapid piece of technology that’s making the world a worse place.
Annie Altman says she strongly believes that other victims were sexually abused by Sam Altman, and she’s asking them to contact her anonymously right now. Although she says she’s not interested in pursuing legal action against her brother right now, that could change at some point in the near future.
The OpenAI board issued a vague press release about firing Altman. Here’s what it said:
“He was not consistently candid in his communications with the board, hindering its ability to exercise its responsibilities. The board no longer has confidence in his ability to continue leading OpenAI.”
That’s basically all that the media has been reporting. It doesn’t seem like a coincidence, however, that Annie Altman’s allegations against her older brother finally started to pick up steam on Twitter last month. The timing of Sam Altman getting fired right after these accusations started to go viral on Twitter seems suspicious. He’s obviously innocent until proven guilty, but these accusations are serious.
Once again, having a free speech platform on the internet like Twitter/X has proven to be more valuable than the lying disinformation specialists in the fake news media.
